FacebookPalm Concepcion Power Corp. (PCPC) has been cited by the Philippine Electricity Market Corp. (PEMC) for its exemplary compliance with market rules.
PCPC, which has a gross capacity of 135 MW, ranked eight (8th) in compliance with the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) rules relating to the Must Offer Rule and Compliance with the Real-Time Dispatch Schedule.
The Must Offer Rule pertains to offering the power plant’s maximum capability while the Real-Time Dispatch Schedule refers to the plant’s adherence to the schedule. This schedule is the hourly nominated capacity of the power plant to the grid. Financial penalties are imposed in case of violation to these rules without acceptable reason.
“Communication is crucial in making sure that we are compliant with our operations in the plant. This award is a result of the coordination and consistency of the company. We at Trading and Risk Management Team together with our people from the Operations and Maintenance will continue our efforts to ensure we are delivering the power capacity committed to our customers,” Ms. Irene Francisco, PCPC Trading Head said.
PCPC was awarded during the first WESM Compliance Officer Summit at Novotel Manila Araneta Center on January 24, 2019. This summit is one of the programs being implemented by PEMC to foster WESM compliance practices among its trading participants.
