Sitio Puntales, Concepcion, Iloilo — Members of the Palm Concepcion Power Corporation Security Group (PCPC SG) rescued seven passengers of a motorized banca when it capsized while traversing the area near the power plant’s jetty.
The seven passengers from Jaro, Iloilo were on their way to visit relatives when a strong wave overturned their banca.

A guard stationed at the Coal Yard Area witnessed the incident and promptly reported this to the Security Office. Eight SG members responded using the power plant’s patrol boat to get to the stricken victims. After a while, other rescue teams arrived at the site including members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (MDRRMO), Philippine Coast Guard Substation Concepcion, and the Municipal Bantay Dagat.
The quick and courageous action of the eight SG members was recognized by PCPC with each of them presented with token and cash reward.
