To address the power crisis in Mindanao, A Brown Company, Inc. (ABCI), through Peakpower Energy, Inc. (PEI), developed a structure for various credit-worthy electric cooperatives to address the power deficiencies in Mindanao.
PEI through its subsidiaries as operating units: Peakpower Soccsargen, Inc. (PSI), Peakpower San Francisco, Inc. (PSFI), and Peakpower Bukidnon Inc. (PBI) implemented diesel power plant projects in Mindanao.
The three power plants are embedded to electric cooperatives. The joint endeavor made with the distribution utilities aims to address the peaking power demands in Mindanao.
The availability of the generating capacities of the embedded facilities were able to insulate the supply deficiencies that the power outages bring about in the provinces. This assurance of long-term security and reliability of power supply are just two of the salient points of the projects.
Serving the provinces South Cotabato, Agusan del Sur, and Bukidnon, all of which are first class provinces, PSI, PSFI, and PBI assure the electric power consumers, especially those in the business sector, their continuous operations. The plants can even extend the commitment to provide with their base load needs if the situation calls for it.
On October 2013, ABCI along with Enterprise Holdings Corporation, World Power Alliance Limited and Power Mavens Holdings Limited finalized and executed a Shareholders’ Agreement for their joint investment in PEI.
